Informations:
Your Internet navigator IE (Internet Explorer) offers you the possibility to connect to your FTP service. Make sure that your navigator is configured to use this functionality.
*By default, the FTP account that was created at opening of the account has the same user name and password as your control panel “DirectAdmin”.
"Internet Explorer 6" Configuration
1. First of all, you must configure your IE (If you did not do it).
- Open your navigator and in the menu, click on TOOLS (figure #1)
- Then, click on Internet Options (figure #1)
2. In the “Internet Options” window, click on the “Advanced” option. (figure #2)
3. Now, you must select 2 boxes (If they are not already selected).
- The first box: "activate the display of files on FTP sites ". (Figure 2)
- The second box: "use the passive FTP mode" (figure 3)
4. Click the APPLY button, then OK and close your IE (Internet Explorer).
5. Open a new IE (Internet Explorer) window and try to long on your FTP account.
FTP Connection by IE (Internet Explorer)
1. Open an IE (Internet Explorer) window.
2. Write in the browser ftp: // ftp.yourdomain.tld
(The browser FTP connection always has to begin with ftp: // (not http: //) to indicate which type of protocol to use by default. Then, the address always begins by ftp. ((Not www.) and register the name of your domain.)
3. A connection window will appear. (Figure 4)
4. Enter your FTP connection information. (User name and Password) and click "Open a session ".
5 - Now, if your information was entered correctly, you will see this kind of window: (figure 5)
Note: We do not advise you to use IE (Internet Explorer) as FTP customer. A free software (FileZilla) will guarantee a better satisfaction to you.
